Our Mission
Our sign company is known throughout Ottawa – and across Canada – for its commitment to personal service, excellent attention to detail and high-quality products. We’re dedicated to providing our customers with helpful service and cutting-edge, affordable custom sign solutions that are delivered quickly, on time and on budget.
Our History
Jim Miller and Craig McConnell got into the sign business in 1992, setting up shop under the name Vinylgraphics Custom Sign Centre. Owned by Jim, the store was part of an Ontario-wide franchise and our studio quickly became recognized for its exceptional service and outstanding sign quality, winning several Franchise of the Year honours.
Our relationship with the Toronto-based franchisor ended in September 2002. At the same time, Craig, who had been working with Jim since our inception, was named a full partner in the company. With a new ownership structure in place it was time to create a new identity for our Ottawa sign company. Following the advice of many of our long-time customers, we picked the most natural name – Miller McConnell Signs.
We’ve since grown into a full-capacity custom sign company with a dedicated, full-time sign production and graphic design staff, capable of creating trade show graphics and convention display signs, vinyl banners, billboards, truck advertising, custom window signs and everything in between. A premiere Ottawa sign company, we’re always growing – we recently expanded our design centre on Lancaster Road.
Our Business Philosophy
We consider ourselves to be a professional sign studio, not a sign shop. Both Jim and Craig have business backgrounds – as a result, they are determined to run the company in an organized and professional manner, without the torn jeans and messy garages associated with most other sign companies.
Most of our customers would say the best part about working with us is our superior service and our capability to handle quick turnaround and last-minute requests for both big and small projects. We go the extra mile and work collaboratively with our customers to create a truly customized sign solution that fits their needs and budget.
Giving Back to the Community
For many years, Miller McConnell Signs has been a proud and active member of the Ottawa chapters of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the Sign Association of Canada (SAC), serving on several of these organizations’ volunteer committees.
We are also heavily involved with several charities such as United Way Ottawa and the Quest for a Cure Adventure Race, an event we donated all of the signage to free of charge.
